Katy Perry..........................Katy Perry original name Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, (born October 25 1984 Santa Barbara California U.S.) American pop singer who gained fame for a string of anthemic and often sexually suggestive hit songs as well as for a playfully cartoonish sense of style. Perry's early attempts to success in mainstream music failed, two record labels signing but then removing her prior to they released any songs. Capitol Records released Perry's Ur So Gay EP in 2007, and the track garnered modest interest for its cheerfully silly title track. "I Didn't Kiss a Girl was a more aggressive ode to sexism, accompanied by an electro-pop beat that was hard to resist. It was an unpopular song and critics were critical of the song for encouraging relationships between gay men and others claimed that the song depicted a sexually explicit story appealing to male fantasies about sexuality among females. I Kissed A Girl's mix of titillation, polished melody and an enthralling chorus made its popularity to reach the top 10 across multiple nations. The song helped make more albums available, such as the album One of the Boys (2007). Hot N Cold's witty, lively second track was extremely popular. The album Perry wrote for herself was a huge success, selling over three million copies in the United States.
